Installed on the eighth floor of Conrad Los Angeles, Solar Flora Superbloom Mandala is a triptych inspired by one of Southern California’s most extraordinary natural phenomena. After long periods of aridity, the high desert erupts briefly into an immense carpet of flowers. That transformation, improbable, radiant, and fleeting, animates the work.

The three folded paintings move as a single composition, their saturated color and symmetrical forms evoking solar energy, botanical growth, and the ordering geometry of the mandala. Created for an art collection centered on Southern California culture and the legacy of the Light and Space movement, the triptych joins work by more than a dozen Los Angeles artists. The hotel’s luminous interiors and thoughtful integration of art give the pieces a powerful architectural presence.
